The Newport & District Air Rifle League (“the league”, “we”) is a not-for-profit organisation run by volunteers. This page explains what the league is and isn’t responsible for on this website. How we use personal information is covered separately in our privacy notice.

1. Commercial partners

The businesses on the Commercial Partners page, and in the Commercial Partners banner on the home and Tables pages, are adverts. Partners pay the league to be listed.

• Partners are independent businesses. They aren’t part of the league, and listing a partner isn’t a recommendation or endorsement.
• The league doesn’t check, provide or guarantee any partner’s goods or services, including repairs and servicing.
• Each partner supplies their own details, offers, images and flyer, and is responsible for them being accurate. If you think a listing is wrong or misleading, please let us know.
• Anything you arrange with a partner, including prices, payment, quotes and repairs, is between you and them.
• Payments for adverts are non-refundable. This includes when something a partner has paid to advertise is no longer available, for example because it has sold out or been discontinued.

2. Items for sale

The league doesn’t sell anything itself. Every item on the For Sale page, including league approved merchandise, is sold by a private seller.

• The league doesn’t inspect items or guarantee their description, condition, safety or legality.
• When you enquire about an item, we pass your enquiry on to the seller (see our privacy notice). Any sale is between you and the seller.
• All private sales are at the risk of the buyer and seller.
• We recommend seeing an item before paying for it, and meeting in person to complete a sale.

3. Air weapons

Air rifles and air pistols are subject to the law, whether you buy one from a partner or another seller. Buyers and sellers are responsible for following it. In particular:

• Only people aged 18 or over can buy or hire an air weapon. Sellers must check a buyer’s age.
• Businesses that sell air weapons must be registered firearms dealers.
• Different rules apply in Scotland and Northern Ireland, where you need a certificate to own an air weapon.

If you’re unsure, ask the police firearms licensing team for your area before buying or selling.

4. Links to other websites

Links to partners’ websites and other sites open outside this website. The league doesn’t control them and isn’t responsible for their content, products or privacy practices. Check their own terms and privacy notices.

5. League records and information

Fixtures, results, scores, averages, handicaps and other information on this website are provided in good faith by volunteers and may sometimes contain mistakes. The league’s official records and rules take priority over anything shown here. If you spot an error, please tell us and we’ll correct it.

6. Our responsibility

Nothing on this page limits any responsibility that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. This page doesn’t affect your legal rights against a partner or seller.

We will update this page when things change, and change the date at the top.
